Saturday I visited Bletchley Park. Engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and others gathered here during WWII and worked on breaking the German Enigma machine and other secret codes. You may have seen the movie, The Imitation Game, staring Benedict Cumberbatch as one of these code breakers, Alan Turing.
Each letter in the secret Enigma messages had a probability of one in one hundred million, million. the code breakers at Bletchley Park were tasked with the daunting responsibility of breaking this code, with the weight of aiding in the end of a World War resting on their shoulders. While contemplating the challenge these men and woman faced, it occurred to me that these men and woman working to solve this code were able to connect to the pure potential of the universe. During a time of great tragedy and fear they used their collective energy and intellect to solve the unsolvable.
Sometimes I think we assume that using spiritual laws is only a passive, intellectual activity. Practicing spiritual laws requires active awareness. We can be open to boundless possibilities, pure potential, by releasing our fears, limiting our thoughts, and reserving our judgements. We do this one breath and thought at a time. Living in abundance, gratitude, consciousness, and pure potential shifts our attention and energy and opens us to more than the infinite.
I’m on my way back to the U.S. tomorrow. I am looking forward to Reflection and Meditation on Saturday.
